Miles and I are going to Argentina for a month. Be warned: if you’re reading this, you’re reading my first attempt ever at a public blog. My hope is for this space to become a whirling multimedia extravaganza, featuring riveting photos, pithy commentary and videos of vicuña llamas galloping across the western puna, hopefully with me riding one bareback. But such a scenario assumes a few things:
1. My laptop won’t be stolen, or sat on.
2. I’ll be able to find a wireless internet signal.
3. I won’t be hung over when I find the wireless signal, or the llama herd.
Excuses aside, the intent is a fairly up-to-date Argentine blog, so that friends and family can follow along with us on what will hopefully be a pretty fun month. If anyone has any suggestions, reactions or good wishes to share, please make us feel loved by leaving a public comment below any post.
We purposefully haven’t done a lot of planning for this trip. Right now, the only plan is to stay in a rented studio apartment in Buenos Aires until July 15th, with some day trips or overnight trips from this home base, and then set out hither and yon across the country. We’ll probably stick to the west and northwest, since they’re more accessible in the winter.
